The unit connects to a patient and monitors vital signs via non-invasive sensors (mounted on leads). Proprietary hardware and software perform complex data gathering and signal processing tasks and allow VitalPoint® PRO to produce accurate and reliable measurements of physiological parameters such as heart rate, respiration rate, pulse rate, functional oxygen saturation of arterial hemoglobin, blood pressure (systolic, mean, and diastolic), and temperature. The system can be programmed to issue visible or audible alarms when any of the parameters exceeds preset limits determined by the health care professional.
